A snotty, “We don’t need anything from you” is the first lyrical declaration on Where the Sun Never Sets. I immediately think I am hearing a NOFX side-project or something Propaghandi has thrown together; but it doesn’t bear the Fat Wreck imprint, so it must to stand alone.
The album is jump started with a punk anthem straight out of Fat’s back-catalog and Gilman’s rafters, then the following tracks meander from arty, anti-establishment spoken word to impassioned Minor Threat/Youth Brigade-style punk ballads and sing-along choruses.
Having its good moments, A Global Threat lives up to its name by the mere fact that they really are all over the place. These guys cover a LOT of musical territory, but not always in the most talented way. Choose wisely…
