Fashion & Beauty Trends by Steven Salazar

Steven Salazar, a designer extraordinaire for Confident Clothing, brings his expertise and biting wit together to critique the latest fashions and beauty trends.

This week, our Beauty Buzz writer Steven Salazar is crazy busy getting ready to introduce his Confident Clothing Fall line to Denver’s urban community. So we’re taking over his column this week to let you know all about it.

We can’t wait to feast our eyes on their Fall collection, which will feature a new sport line, aimed toward the active and trendy consumer, as well as dress and casual evening wear for the Fall season. The Crave 2003 fashion debut will define Confident Clothing’s sharp use of lines, color and form-fitting fabrics.

Let us tell ya – this will not be your average fashion show. “Crave 2003 is a springboard for the growing relationship between Denver’s fashion and nightlife scene,” said Jeffrey Tyler, CEO of Confident Clothing. On Saturday April 5th, 2003 at the Sherman Street Events Complex (1770 Sherman Street, Denver), all your senses will be invigorated when rock meets dance music, and fashion intertwines with performance art.

This will be a night where you can get a heavy dose of Colorado’s music elite, when the stage is overtaken by Rythm Junkie, Judge Roughneck, Fomofuiab, Sammy T. of Area303 with DJ Devo, and The Byron Shaw Projex. There will also be special performances by Melinda Dickson and DJs DJMLE, Vitamin D and Sean Biddle as the Floorfillerz, Nutmeg, Little Mike, DJ Wicked Won, Mike Cecil, DJ Yossi and Sleep Dep, featuring vocals by Chandiss.

Other eye candy includes visual projections by Mallurd FX, film screenings by Double Edge Films, and light show by Illusion Lighting. Prizes and give-aways will be going on throughout the night, and the smoking lounge will feature a Cigar Bar by HavanasCigars.com. There will be a cash bar going until 1:30am.

This is a 21 and over event. Doors open at 8pm and the night will be going straight through until the morning…the wee hours of 5am. The James Bond-themed Confident Fall 2003 Fashion Show goes off at 10:30pm, with “Atmospheric Changes” taking place when the carriage turns into a pumpkin at Midnight.

So what happens after night is over the sun rises on our city? Tyler believes that, “Denver needs a clothing brand that represents style, function and taste, which are all qualities that I associate with this city.” They want Confident to lead the way, and are planning for national distribution within a year’s time. They will also release a “Where to Buy” list of Confident Clothing’s supporting boutiques, department stores and specialty shops on April 7, 2003.

Tickets are $15.00 in advance, $20 the day of the show. Go to www.confidentclothing.com for more information and to purchase tickets, or you can buy tickets from the following locations:
