Local Bands Play Musical Chairs

This week local bands announced new members that joined their groups in addition to musician searches. After several auditions, Kronow was pleased to find Nate Salas, their new guitarist that has been active in Denver’s metal scene for years and was previously with Regional Conflict…D.O.R.K. are now on their third drummer, replacing Sergio who joined the band last September with Jimmy Blair. D.O.R.K. has snagged a slot on KTCL’s Big Adventure show, Saturday May 10, playing Stage #2 from 2pm-2:30pm…Jesse from Shogun, along with bass player Sam Neff, have decided to leave the name Shogun behind and continue on as a new band. This new band will be in need of a new singer, so those with melodic singing abilities can contact Jesse via email at shogun303@hotmail.com, or at 303.200.0594…The bassist from Curious Yellow has left the band on good terms, and they now have Samantha Donen in to replace him. They are also close to completion of their new E.P. and are psyched to get an opening slot for Built to Spill at the Gothic, Friday May 16.

In other news…

One Inch Tall will be playing their final show at the Larimer Lounge on May 3rd…Colorado Springs metal band Gripped is getting serious about their musical career, having just signed a worldwide management contract with Hollowpoint Management, which has offices in Houston, L.A., Liverpool, and Amsterdam who also manages Soil, The Misfits, Skinlab, and Godhead. In May Gripped will be putting the finishing touches on their upcoming release Blackouts and Temper Tantrums at Audiolab Recording in Los Angeles. Logan Mader, former guitarist for Machinehead and Soulfly, and current guitarist for Medication, will be manning the controls. They plan to shop the new album to labels on both American coasts as well as Europe, in addition to playing Industry showcases in Fall 2003…Souldust in Colorado Springs is currently in the mastering stages of their new demo, and will be playing The House of Rock in Northglen on May 3rd…Accidental Superhero is one of the top ten finalist to have a song considered for a new movie by Lions Gate, “Sol Goode”.
