Chicago has always been home to notorious individuals. It’s a city who has for generations, emanated a vibe that cultivates creative types with an innate talent for identifying and personifying the carnal nature of humankind. Flosstradamus, the Chicago duo made up of J2K (Josh Young) and Autobot (Curt Cameruci), have for years specialized in the heated, sexy, and at times, nasty beats, much to the delight of fans attending performances or for those who find their tracks fitting for some “if this van’s a rocking'” action. This Friday, June 8, Floss will have their musical way with the girls and guys at the Summit Music Hall in Denver.
Having released the Jubilation E.P. at the end of 2011 on Fool’s Gold, and Total Recall on Jeffrees/Mad Decent in February of this year, Flosstradamus, along with Lunice, JWLS and Sich Mang, put a twist on the steamy “From the Back” and “Luuk Out Gurl,” the latter of which features Kid Sister (correction: who is actually Young’s older sister) for the May E.P., Jubilation 2.0. New to the mix is “Rollup,” a track that dips its toe into dreamy waves of grain whilst commanding an impromptu breakdance pit or Mr. Roboto stance.

These works are in addition to the many remixes they’ve crafted for other artists far and wide, from Matt & Kim (“Yeah Yeah”) and The Cool Kids (“Pump Up The Volume”), to RJD2 (“The Glow”) and Major Lazer (“Original Don”).
Earlier today Mad Descent posted a brand new track, “Lana’s Theme,” on Soundcloud (available for free download), a song that leads you down a primrose path through an urban jungle, floating angelic vocals and piano over concrete alleys, where rubber-souled kicks meet the road.

Part of the current tour included the opening party for BASS Squad at DROM in NYC, and the pics on Facebook will give you just a peek of what’s in store for the remaining dates, including Floss’ stop at Denver’s Summit Music Hall June 8, performing with The Magician, Lucky Bounce, Plastic Plates, and Sir Charles. (And you may just see Young’s mom show up as she did at Rock the Bells a few years back, if she still lives in Denver).
