It’s interesting that the new Imagine Dragons EP is titled Continued Silence (Interscope), because the six tracks are anything but quiet. With the new songs in tow, the four-piece act consisting of Dan Reynolds, Wayne Sermon (guitar) Ben McKee (bass), and Daniel Platzman (drums) hit the road earlier this month and come to Denver at the Marquis this Friday, April 27 with The Autumn Film and M & the Gems.
The antithesis of …Silence comes right off the bat with the first track, “Radioactive,” which has such an expansive aural reach it can only be deemed a sure closure for many of the set lists on this tour. If contemplation, beauty, and a fuel for inspiration was the goal for “Round and Round,” Imagine Dragons nailed it with a lyrical message of the united question of what we’re here for, what our purposes is in this life, and how we’re pretty much all in it together.
As most band stories go, unions via school (including yet another Berklee alum) played a part in the match up. Now on their fifth E.P., Continued Silence, Imagine Dragon is in fact working on a full-length, which will appear on Interscope (date TBD).
After their dates in Colorado, which include the April 27 Denver gig at the Marquis, The Black Sheep in the Springs on April 28, and Fort Collins on April 30 at the Aggie, Imagine Dragons continue going west, ending the tour at L.A.’s infamous Troubadour on May 11.
