When it comes to a typical Face To Face show, earplugs and shin guards are typically needed as safety precautions. This time around, the Cali punk rock quartet pares it down to two, as Trever Keith and Scott Shifflet perform a fan favorite, Ignorance is Bliss, from beginning to end in an acoustic fashion on Saturday, April 21 at the Marquis Theatre.
Since 1991, Face to Face has released numerous albums and its members have expanded their reach to other bands and projects, including Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies, Saves the Day, Offspring, Viva Death and Legion of Doom. After a four-year break that began in 2004, the band regrouped in 2008 and released Laugh Now, Laugh Later. That was eight years ago, so the band is definitely due for a new one. But you can’t complain too much if the band continues to tour and offer a sing-along opportunity in the process.
So before you start training for the mosh pit at the annual Vans Warped Tour, here’s a chance to revisit a classic punk rock album in its most raw form and within the intimate room at the Marquis Theatre.
Get there early to check out acoustic sets from Scooter of Tin Horn Player, formally of Love Me Destroyer and Pinhead Circus, and Jim Yelenick of Nuns of Brixton and Pitch Invasion.
