Roc C is definitely the hardest rapper to ever appear on Stones Throw Records. The debut release from this Oxnard, Ca MC, who runs in the company of such luminaries as The Lootpack, Oh No, and M.E.D., is All Questions Answered. And while it may not answer all questions, it certainly gets a certified stamp of approval from the West Coast. Guests include Dudley Perkins, J-Ro (of the Liks), Chino XL, Bizzy Bone, and Aloe Blacc. Plus, the indelible Sway (of the Sway and Tech Wake Up Show and MTV), is a fan.
Production, full of infectious trunk funk in the tradition of loaded hood tales, jail memories, and poverty inspired musings, is headed up by Oh No, DJ Romes, and Kan Kick of the Oxnard family. This keeps the proceedings consistent and street. If you’re a fan of Stones Throw music, this might not be the time to stay on the wagon. And, though he comes highly recommended, the comparisons to Pac, Biggie and Jay, might be a little premature. His press says he “aims to transcend the usual hip-hop categories.” However, this album is among the status quo.
