Untitled #33 (Pledge) – Denver Art Museum

It’s a new year and if you’ve already dove into a quart of ice cream, annihilating your resolution to stay away from dairy therapy, then the Denver Art Museum (DAM) invites you to the cathartic theme for this month’s Untitled event, now at #33 – Pledge – on January 28 from 6pm – 10pm.

Yes, among strangers (albeit friendly, art-loving ones) you can confess on video to restart 2011 with a clean slate again by entering the DAM Confession Booth, not to be confused with confessional booth. Maybe you want to put a past grievance behind you, pledge to stop and think before judging others, or to refrain from subjecting your friends to your collection of Grateful Dead albums. Really, they’re not going to change their minds after listening to “Casey Jones” for the 100th time.

If you’re not too keen about putting a promise on film, check out the Make a Promise Hotspot in the African art gallery (on level three of the Hamilton Building) that will offer the opportunity to place your conflict on paper instead, performing a ritual to release it forever.

If you haven’t checked out the DAM’s Untitled events before, each month a local musical act is featured along with a food spread and drinks. This month 200 Million Years, along with Bonnie and the Beard, will be performing in the Duncan Pavilion, and in the atrium entrance to the museum, DJ Johnny D.

Untitled events are included in general Museum admission. Students presenting valid IDs receive 2-for-1 general admission when tickets are purchased on site.
