Last fall Frank Turner more than made his presence know when he and his band mates came into Denver and tore up the crowd at the Marquis. As expected, there were many sing-alongs to fan favorites, including “I Still Believe,” “If I Ever Stray,” “Wessex Boy,” and other tracks from his 2011 release, England Keep My Bones, all the way back to his 2006 E.P. Campfire Punkrock.
A few months later Frank arrived in Austin for SXSW to perform at the British Embassy music showcase, a bit delirious and worse for wear, given he’d had yet to sleep. But being the trooper than he is and the consummate workaholic, perform he did and splendidly so. I expect that if his stage request was met, being a shot of whiskey, he would have passed out right there and then.
Now the live experience of his epic Wembley concert is being released by Epitaph Records in the U.S. October 2, ‘Last Minutes And Lost Evenings,’ which contains 15 songs hand-picked by Frank plus the full DVD the concert.
Tomorrow night, Tuesday, September 18 you can experience Frank Turner and his band live and in person yourself, in a much more intimate setting of the Summit Music Hall. If you haven’t been to one of his shows, I’m sure one of your friends has and can tell you, it’s a team effort between the blasting music coming from the stage and the overwhelming energy emanating from the crowd.
