Brother Ali Comes to Denver on the Bassnectar Tour

Brother Ali is one busy dude. After assisting the group Pepper on their “Like a Surgeon Tour” by playing Chicago on October 21st, (as well as Lawrence, KS on the 24th and various other dates), Ali will swing into Broomfield to play the 1st Bank Center in support of musician/DJ Bassnectar on Saturday, October 23rd.

Amid these high-profile gigs, Ali will also perform several headlining shows immediately before and after these dates. It seems that everyone wants to vibe to the tales that this masterful storyteller has woven!
Fresh off the heels of his commercially and critically lauded album, The Undisputed Truth, the MC’s MC cobbled together the equally breath-taking album Us, a project that allowed him to not only spit more fanciful game upon long-time producer Ant’s bombastic tracks, but to also address and examine “the strengths and flaws of the human condition.” Showing a deft ability to bridge political commentary and social observation without coming off preachy or condescending, Ali addresses topics that run the gamut from abuse to rape to poverty, as well as love, family and redemption.
One of the most consistent MCs on the microphone today, Brother Ali is an enduring hip-hop figure who is not afraid to get his microphone dirty. But don’t get it twisted, he’s not afraid to sharpen his tongue alongside such admired rap artists as his own touring buddy Toki Wright, or guests from his Us LP, Joell Ortiz (Slaughterhouse), and Philly’s son, Freeway (formerly of RocaFella Records). In other words Ali celebrates the craft of MCing and continues to build on the art of storytelling.
On the stage, Ali is energetic and aware, addressing his audience as if they are guests at his home highlighting their evening regaled by his musings. Yes, he is still sharing great stories. Here’s your opportunity to listen.
