Bear Hands – Hi-Dive November 18 with Royal Bangs, Spires

When we last featured Bear Hands it was in anticipation of the band’s appearance at the Underground Music Showcase (UMS) this past summer in July. The venue was packed as the four guys made their way through the crowd and up to the stage, where they more than made their presence known.

While vocalist Dylan Rau has been known to be a bit self-conscious as a singer, thus the reason some vocals are tweaked electronically on certain songs (“Crime Pays”), being in a live setting seemed to provide him with more than a bit of liquid courage.

The other three members – Ted Feldman (guitar/percussion), Val Loper(bass/percussion), TJ Orscher (Drums/Vocals) – followed suit, resulting in an overwhelming flow of energy that spilled onto the people below, who were fixated on every chord, every note, every scream.

If you purchased the vinyl version of Burning Bush Supper Club (Cantora Records) as I did, and you still want to download the album you can redeem your code from the Bear Hands’ website: http://www.bearhandsband.com/. Also available, with the submission of your email address, is a free download of “Crime Pays” with remixes; yours for the taking.

If you happened to miss Bear Hands this past July, don’t get your panties in a bunch Dixie, the band is back in town this Friday, performing once again at Hi-Dive on November 18. Also in the line up is Royal Bangs and Spires.
