A man who needs no introduction (avoiding the Entroducing pun there…but blew it already by even mentioning it…oh, never mind), DJ Shadow’s All Basses Covered Tour has three — count them — three Colorado dates, and fans couldn’t be more excited.
We’re talking Thursday, 9/26 at the Gothic, Friday, 9/27 at Belly Up Aspen, and Saturday, 9/28 at Boulder Theatre.
Since the early ’90s Josh Davis has led with reinvention, turning beats and bounces, flips of the trade and overall song composition on its head. His influences are felt far and wide, through the decades and through international lands, musically, artistically, professionally and business wise, and of course, through many a music collection.
Most recently DJ Shadow toured through Japan and Europe, which included a stop at the BBC Radio 1 studio and a special guest DJ slot on “Diplo and Friends.”
Being the workaholic that he is, there’s no sleep ’til Colorado where he ends his North American All Basses Covered Tour, which reflects a broad range in styles, sounds and genres while still having the distinct DJ Shadow sound. On this tour he will introduce fans to unreleased material and provide something far beyond the standard DJ experience of a watching a guy look down while bopping his head.
As the consummate professional and fanatic for diversity, no two performances will be the same. So go to all three!
I rarely quote press releases, since it’s not only a pet peeve but the worst in lazy journalism, I do have to note, “All Basses Covered 2013 will be hosted by venues who value the communal experience of music and high-quality sound over exclusivity and bottle service.”
