Bleached – Keep On Keepin’ On to SXSW 2016

Bleached may call Los Angeles home, but it doesn’t look like the four-piece will be spending much time in the sunny city in 2016. Jennifer Clavin (vocals, guitar), Jessica Clavin (guitar), Marc Jordan (drums) and Micayla Grace (bass), recently announced a new U.S. tour that starts on the west coast after SXSW and moves east, ending back in their home town on May 5 at the Telegram Ballroom.

Then it’s off to the U.K., playing Gulliver’s in Manchester and Moth Club in London. This coincides with the release of their second full-length, Welcome the Worms, the follow up to 2013’s break-out debut, Ride Your Heart.

The first single was released in January, appropriately titled to mirror their on-the-road activities, “Keep On Keepin’ On.” A touch of Sunset Strip brazenness and spunk is spun into a touch of The Go Go’s harmonies. Bleached turned to producer Joe Chiccarelli (Morrissey, The Strokes, Elton John) along with co-producer Carlos de la Garza (YACHT, Paramore) to partner on taking their sound to the next level. With song titles like “Hollywood, We Did It All Wrong,” “Chemical Air,” and “I’m All Over The Place,” it seems their regular day-to-day surroundings may have also played a small inspirational part in the songwriting.

The new album Welcome the Worms is out April 1, 2016 on Dead Oceans, home to A Place To Bury Strangers, Bear in Heaven, and the Denver-then-Brooklyn-now-disbanded Gauntlet Hair. You can pre-order the album and get the first single “Keep On Keepin’ On” here. We’ll also be publishing Bleached’s SXSW 2016 showcase and gig details as they’re released.
