SXSW 2009 – Opening Night Film “I Love You Man”

These days, we could all use a laugh, or lots of laughs to wipe away the tears of 2008. And after seeing the trailer for “I Love You Man,” it looks like the SXSW opening night flick pick is right on the money (insert “groan” here).

“I Love You Man” has all the right ingredients, including directed by John Hamburg (Along Came Polly) and starring the always adorable Paul Rudd (Anchorman, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) along with Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Fast Times at Ridgemont High…okay, he’s not in that one, but sure looks like a young Judge Reinhold), Jaime Pressly, Andy Samberg (SNL, Jizz in My Pants), Jon Favreau, and Rashida Jones.

The main players, including Hamburg, Rudd, Segel and Jones will be live and in-person in Austin for a behind the scenes look of “I Love You Man” on Saturday, March 14 as part of the Film conference. We also cross our fingers that Samberg makes it out by hell or high water…or a plane. That would be nice.

The South By Southwest Music & Media Conference and Festival takes place at the Austin Convention Center and on over 80 stages throughout downtown Austin, along with panels, interviews, workshops, peer meetings, and trade show exhibition.
