Zerofactor Disputes Rumors

Rumors have been circling around the longevity of Zerofactor, the hardcore metal group out of Colorado Springs, since their drummer was evicted from the band a number of months ago. They have been hard pressed to fill his seat at the drum set, but according to Gene their lead singer, ” kyle had mad skills and is hard to just replace with anyone. Although as a person he will be easy to replace.” Ouch.

In the meantime, Nick and Gene are working on another project with Matt from Darkfall and Mo’ from Coma Stile. So what are these guys working on? “We are in the preliminary stage right now and you will hear the updates as they come,” Gene says, “and knowing this power house of guitar players, it will happen soon. All I can say is that if you like the song “Empty” by Aerofactor, you will love the shit I am writing.”

The Mansfields are Goin’ Out to Cali

Getting used to this warm weather coincides with the Mansfields trek to the west to play some gigs in California this week. They’ve snagged some stage time at Taime’s Pretty Ugly Club in Hollywood (that has to be Taime Down from Faster Pussycat), and The Dragonfly with Bubble, Smack and The Millionaires. They recommend checking out Bubble’s web site at www.PlanetBubble.com, are some new friends of theirs that they played with last time we they visited LA, featuring the world famous Share and Bam from Dogs D Mour and Vixen. From there they move onto Huntington Beach for a gig at Liquid Den, and the infamous Troubadour with Slick Shoes, Gameface, Bullets N Octane, and Army of Freshmen.

Raising Money for Ty Longley & His Family

Barb Dye of SWEETRevenge Management and DYEnamic PROductionS has reported that the fundraiser they held in March for the Ty Longley Memorial fund at Eck’s Saloon was impacted by the snowstorm, thus only enabling them to raise $400. But for Barb, “that was better than nothing!” She sent $200 to the Ty Longley Memorial Fund, and $200 to the Baby Longley Fund. They held another fundraiser last week Whiskey Bill’s, so we’re waiting to hear how that went for them now the snow has cleared and the Spring weather has taken over.

Music NewsColorado on the Roxx

This month we will see two rock clubs in Colorado stop rockin’ – the Sportsfield Roxx in Denver, and The Chief in Pueblo.

So what’s the deal? We’re not quite sure yet.

According to Brandun, Fomofuiab’s Manager, “The Chief has been losing money since they re-opened. The owner Kelvin just decided to shut it down and sell it from what I understand they are asking 200,000 for the whole club including the last beer glass.”

Fomofuiab played their final show at Sportsfield last Friday, and will be playing their last show at The Chief this Saturday, February 22 with Tripcage, Comostyle, Koyld and Spinedown.

Here’s what bassist Mike Krening has to say about their love on the Roxx last week:
We played our first show ever as a band at the Sportsfield and it has turned into a hub for us bands. It’s always been a place for people to network in the scene because you always knew there were good bands playing.

It sucks that the Sportsfield is closing its doors to metal shows; one less venue is never good. But the cycle will continue and new ones will appear and disappear.

But we personally (FOMOFUIAB) will miss the Sportsfield and the people there! Chris and Dave and all the bartenders over our short carreer have been some of our biggest supporters and Im sure a lot of other bands in town will say the same!!

For sure, the last metal show there was bad ass! Mazzard, Fomofuiab, Blister 66, and Sickbox…one hell of a lineup. All of the bands kicked ass and made sure that it left an impression, if not a scar on everyone. It was good to see the support of our fans and it was a great night.

Maris The Great showed up to do his casket giveaway. He had a casket full of local band stuff like CD’s, shirts, magazines and what not. It was pretty cool of him to put that contest on. The winner of course was our own Ty Fury, who wrote 50 colorful words on how to kill Maris with the utmost creativity.

We played our asses off that night and had as much fun as we’ve ever had there. Too bad its not going to be around anymore…but at least Jerry (of Tyfoid Mary) made it out of there with the “NO MOSHING” sign. HELL YEAH BROTHER!!
