After over a decade of being a somewhat, redheaded step-child in the world of Southern California punk-rock, Bracket gets set for the release of their first record in 6 years.
During their career roster stints on Caroline and Fat Wreck Chords, they toured the lands of Canada, Europe, Australia, and Japan, as well as the U.S. extensively. Following the seemingly endless amount of touring, the band took a two year hiatus to build a studio in a doublewide trailer, appropriately known as Trailer-Park Studios. Now, comes their most evolved piece of work to date, Requiem, via Caroline family label, Takeover Records.
The quality shows within their own production (at one point a self-arranged string section) and is impressive, as is their 50’s era vocal harmonies over their signature punk rock sound that reached a near Beach Boy quality. Unfortunately the Beach Boys style doesn’t always correlate to raw punk rock and this is far from a “Pet Sounds” kind of album.
